What Are The Religious Exemption Laws?
The Religious Exemption Laws are laws and policy that permit people, churches, religious organizations, and even corporations to be exempt from following certain state laws on the pretense that it violates their faith. Some religious exemption laws focus on allowing businesses to refuse their form of service to lgbtqia+ if they do not agree that they live in their religous way of life. Many states still permit these laws like North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia, South Carolina. These laws can do great do great deals of harm, for example in Illinois it is legal for doctors to refuse treatment to even the most critical patient that are relying on the doctors/medical staff to save their life if the patient is part of the LGBTQIA+ community. This puts common prejudice above the human life.
